Morgan McIlwain
RLA, ASLA, SCUP
Principal

 

Mr. McIlwain is a registered Landscape Architect with over 30 years experience in programming, planning, and design. His past project experience has ranged from large scale regional and community planning to detailed site design and includes parking and roadway design, building and site development, community open space, parks, landscape development and master planning. Over the years, Mr. McIlwain has developed a strong experience base in campus planning and design with a particular focus on college and university work.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Mark Congleton Arnold
RLA, ASLA, SCUP
Principal

 

 

Mark is a registered landscape architect with over twenty two years experience in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. His background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in Studio Art and Art Education and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky. He served as Adjunct Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Kentucky where he taught sophomore and junior level design studios for eight years.

His background in Art has always been a part of his practice. A creative and sculptural approach has been the signature aspect of his work. His projects have been recognized at the national level through ASLA Design Awards and National Publication. He has been responsible for nine Award Winning Projects, two of which have been published by Landscape Architecture Magazine, the premier international journal of Landscape Architecture.

 

David White
RLA, ASLA, SCUP
Principal

 

Mr. White has over eighteen years experience in Landscape Architecture and planning design. His past experience has included: rezoning and encroachment permitting, master planning and construction documents, erosion and sediment control calculations. His extensive construction experience has involved all aspects of site development and he currently heads up Construction Document and Master Planning and Design Services for the firm.

Mr. White has provided site design, master planning and construction design services on a variety of projects in Kentucky, South Carolina, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama. He is currently serving as Project Manager for the development of the central campus at Western Kentucky University. These projects have included the Centennial Mall Project and the pedestrian walkways to South Campus and to College Heights. He offers expertise in site design detailing, erosion control design, storm water management and hydrology, site construction administration and construction review.

Clint Abbott
PE
Associate

Clint graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School in May of 1999.  While attending U of L he worked at the Louisville Water Company, and at Fuller Mossbarger Scott and May Engineers.  While his graduate studies were focused in Geotechnical Engineering, he passed the Water Resources Module of the Professional Engineering Exam.  Clint has also worked in Structural Engineering.  This makes him well rounded in all aspect of civil engineering.

For the past five years Clint has focused on site engineering for schools, subdivisions, and commercial developments.  He also spent time as the Engineering Consultant to the Jessamine County - Wilmore Joint Planning Commission.  He is well versed on all site issues including new more stringent EPA guidelines dealing with storm water contamination, and new technologies such as bio-retention, pervious concrete, and other low impact design methodologies dealing with storm water runoff.

Ramona Fry
RLA, ASLA, LEED AP
Senior Associate

 

Ms. Fry is a registered Landscape Architect with nearly ten years of experience in project design and management. Her professional experience includes site design and development, master planning, preparation of construction documents and construction administration.

Ramona has project management experience that includes plazas, parks, urban streetscapes, private development and campus planning and design and has served as Project Manager for recent projects for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, Berea College, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), and the Kentucky Horse Park.

Ramona has the ability to manage projects from schematic design through the development of construction documents, bidding, construction and project completion. She is also a gifted writer with the ability to convey ideas and planning Ramona is a talented designer who is adept at translating creative thoughts into plans and seeing those plans through to the built landscape.

Jocelyn Hinshaw
RLA, ASLA, LEED AP
Senior Associate

 

Jocelyn is a Registered Landscape Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with eight years of experience in urban design and landscape architecture. Her background includes a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning and a Minor in Sustainable Land Systems. During her studies she was able to pursue a wide range of professional interests including urban design, community planning, and environmentally sensitive design.  This focus in school has inspired her to design with an emphasis on ecological sensitivity by utilizing low impact practices, local materials and native species whenever possible.

Jocelyn is involved in many of the firm’s master planning work as well as participates in all phases of projects, from initial client meetings, program verification, inventory/ analysis, schematic design, design development. Her projects are grounded in sustainable solutions that synthesize real-world development demands with environmentally sound planning principles. She works very hard to bring to each project the unique story that celebrates place and community.

She contributes her abilities in 3-D modeling, Photoshop and ‘Visioning’ of projects to effective communication with clients and community groups in order to facilitate participation in the design process. She brings enthusiasm and energy to our integrated and collaborative design studio.

Mark Yanik

Mr.Yanik is a graduate of the University of Kentucky landscape architecture program. He has seven years of experience in planning and landscape architectural design. He has provided long-range master planning, site design & planning and construction services for several of the firm’s streetscape and plaza projects.

Katie Pentecost
LEED AP
Landscape Designer Associate

 

Katie is a Graduate Landscape Architect with seven years experience in site design, construction administration, historical & ecological management plans, as well as community, park and campus master planning.  Her background includes a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky.  Her experience with clients in both the public and private sectors, ranging from the US Army Corps of Engineers to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, adds diversity to the firm and the experience it provides.

Katie is currently involved in and responsible for several of the firm’s construction projects and master planning projects.  She assists the firm in providing clients with the best design solutions to fit their needs and ensure that the solutions are realized throughout project construction. Recently, Katie served as Project Designer for the Historic Boone Tavern Renovation Project in Berea KY which will be a LEED certified building.

Morgan Dye

Landscape Architect
Mr. Dye is a registered Landscape Architect with over 11 years experience in Master Planning, site development, construction documentation and construction administration. Past project experiences include campus/institutional planning, plaza design, streetscape renovations, parks & recreation design, residential & commercial planning, and landscape design. Over the years, Mr. Dye has developed a strong understanding of campus/institutional projects from the planning phase through construction completion.
Jonathan Perkins
RLA, ASLA, LEED AP
Landscape Architect

 

Jonathan is a Landscape Architect with five years experience in site design and construction administration as well as military and campus planning.  His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky where he began to develop his interests in site and graphic design, horticulture, and a broad array of construction aspects.  He also maintains a passion for the world outside our windows and doors.  His experience with clients in both the public and private sectors, ranging from the US Army Europe to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, adds diversity to the firm and the experience it provides.

Jonathan is currently involved in and responsible for several of the firm’s construction projects and campus master plans.  He strives to assist the firm in providing clients with the best design solutions to fit their needs and ensure that the solutions are realized throughout project construction.

Thomas Camargo
RLA
Landscape Architect

Mr Camargo attended the University of Kentucky, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in 1990. His main responsibilities include project management, project design, preparation of construction documents and construction administration.  His project experience includes site planning and design for educational, commercial, residential and institutional projects, golf courses, parks, trails, recreational facilities and streetscape development.   Of particular relevance to this project is Tom’s experience on the Dogwood Park, Levi Jackson Trails and roadway design for the Taylorsville Lake State Park Campground.

Tom's involvement with Landscape Design and Planning has spanned over twenty years and he has contributed to numerous award winning projects.

Stacey Eggers

Marketing Director

 

Stacey, originally from the mid-west, moved to Lexington three years ago to attend graduate school at The University of Kentucky.  After completing her Masters of Fine Art in photography she began teaching courses at UK and working as a freelance graphic designer in advertising. She has recently joined the M2D Design Group to assist in marketing ventures and design production.

Anthony Parsons

Landscape Architect

Anthony is a registered landscape architect with over eleven years experience in construction design and detailing, construction administration and general landscape architectural design. His background includes a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky where he pursued an interest in landscape architectural design, site planning, design and the development of construction documents, and computer aided design software.

Anthony has continued his interest in computer applications. He assembles each of our computers and he manages our communications and network. Anthony plans on continuing his interest in Contract and Construction Administration in the near future by working towards a Masters Degree in Architecture with an emphasis on Building Construction Technology.

Liz Dempsey

Landscape Designer Associate

Liz is a graduate of The University of Kentucky in the Department of Landscape Architecture, with a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture. Her background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology from the University of Louisville, work experience in natural resources and environmental sciences, and a lifetime of involvement in the equine industry. Liz has been working on many of the firm’s planning projects, including campuses, streetscapes, and parks.  She brings her unique background in social sciences and ecological management to each project.
